While preparing for presenting the Organizer in the School programme, I’ve just finished reading a series of books written for children, parents and teachers, and published by Wildberry Productions.
These eight books (soon to be 10) introduce the lives of children with various disorders, syndromes and learning disabilities. Each book brings to light the experiences of these children affected with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) – Eager Eddy; Inattentive Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) – Daydreaming Dakota; Tourette’s Syndrome (TS) – Ticcing Thomas; Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) – Anxious Annie; Autism – Distant Daniel; Aspergers – Dinosaur Diego; Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) – Forgetful Frankie; Dyslexia – Quite Quiet Hannah; and Dyspraxia – Work-Out Willie.
My favourite of the lot is Daydreaming Dakota. Daydreaming Dakota© is the World’s Greatest Daydreamer. Dakota is the inspiring story of a girl with Attention Deficit Disorder who shares with us the challenges she faces when she daydreams about travelling the world. (ISBN 978-0-9784095-1-7)
My second favourite is Eager Eddy. Eager Eddy© is the World’s Most Active Dude. Eddy is the exciting story of a boy with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder who takes the reader along on his journey of endless energy at home and at school. (ISBN 978-0-9784095-0-0)
Also on the Wildberry Productions website are lesson plans and ideas for parents.
