Are you a hoarder?
Have you accumulated possessions that others consider to be useless or of limited value?
Are your living spaces so cluttered that you are unable to use them for the activities for which they were originally designed?
Is hoarding adversely affecting your quality of life?
According to hoarding experts, you may be a hoarder if you answered “yes” to the above questions.
You don’t need to worry though – Smart Space Organizing specializes in assisting clients who struggle with hoarding.
Here’s how:
Nobody gets organized all at once – it requires ongoing life changes. Getting organized can be especially challenging for people who hoard.
At Smart Space, we understand that organizing and decluttering may bring out very strong emotions for you, and we support you throughout the process.
We begin by talking to you about what you hope to achieve. We then develop an action plan to help you work towards your goals, making sure that you have access to whatever resources you might need.
Rather than simply discarding your belongings, we empower you to sort, categorize, and organize them so you can easily find the items that are important to you. You will make the ultimate decisions around what you keep and what you discard.
We will work with you to create simple organizing systems that will allow you to reclaim your space, make positive physical changes in your home, and ultimately improve your overall quality of life.
Getting organized will be a lot of work, but the rewards will be long-lasting.
The Team Approach
Hoarding is often associated with specific mental health conditions. If you suspect that you may have a physical or mental health condition, please discuss this with your physician or mental health provider.
A team approach may be the most effective way to bring about long-lasting changes in your hoarding behaviours as well as in your physical environment, and Smart Space is more than willing to work collaboratively with you, your therapist, and/or other service providers.
